Rescue Paws Thailand

Rescue P.A.W.S. aims to reduce the overpopulation of dogs and cats in Thailand.

Rescue P.A.W.S. envisions a future free of stray or neglected animals in the Prachuap Khiri Khan province, where education aids the change. Our hope is that our approach can be adopted in other parts of Thailand as a model to reduce stray populations across the country.

Rescue P.A.W.S. is a not-for-profit organization that provides animal welfare through sterilization and education.

Rescue P.A.W.S. officially formed in May of 2014, when Thailand-based XploreAsia and Australia’s The Global Work & Travel Co. built a small clinic and erected 12 kennels. The two organizations continue to sponsor Rescue P.A.W.S, aiding our mission through donations, operational advice, and brand awareness, as well as assisting with recruiting like-minded individuals to partake in our award-winning volunteer program.

Rescue P.A.W.S. has since grown exponentially, becoming a fully-fledged animal relief organization focused on combating the stray animal problem in the Hua Hin region of Thailand.

Our organization is operated by a small team of full-time staff and a group of volunteers who carry out day-to-day activities. While some volunteers are trained animal care specialists, volunteer vets, and vet students, others are simply passionate animal lovers seeking a unique travel-abroad experience.

Based on temple grounds in the authentic Thai village of Khao Tao in the Hua Hin district, just south of Bangkok, our facilities include 12 kennels, a play area, and a small surgical clinic. It is from here that we coordinate and conduct sterilizations, vaccinations, and basic veterinary care to help the local stray animal population. With help from donations, we hope to be able to expand this in the future.

Additionally, Rescue P.A.W.S. facilitates local and international adoptions when animals cannot return to a pack, encourages and promotes respect for animals through comprehensive educational campaigns, and promotes local and global civic engagement through volunteer and stakeholder participation.
