Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator

Thai vet student with kitten.

Our Marketing Internship encompasses in-depth lessons, mentorship, and practical experience in charity marketing. Our programs are molded with each individual participant in mind, utilizing their skills and passions as well as offering new and useful skills. Individuals looking to get into the competitive world of marketing or wanting to evolve their existing abilities will find invaluable experience in our placements while also getting to enjoy the great parts of our animal welfare volunteer program, including cultural excursions and beach walks! Marketing Interns are mentored, monitored, and supported by our partners at XploreAsia so they get the most out of this rewarding charity marketing internship.

What are the program requirements?

Our first requirement is that individuals come prepared to learn and to work! The work of the marketing interns is crucial to the success of Rescue P.A.W.S., as they are the ones who ensure that people find out about our organization.

Interns MUST have rabies vaccinations due to the nature of the work. Your safety and enjoyment is of the utmost importance to us, so we will require volunteers to follow our rules of conduct at all times.

We offer an inclusive program that welcomes intern applications from all nationalities and all experience levels. We require only for interns to be 18+ years of age (or to be accompanied by a parent or guardian) and to be able to speak English or Thai to allow for easy communication.

As an intern, what will I be doing?

During the first few weeks of your internship with Rescue P.A.W.S., you will become familiar with the organization from the ground up by assisting in animal care along with the volunteers, which will include tasks such as dog feeding runs, kennel maintenance, working with the local community to educate locals about proper animal care, and assist with veterinary procedures. Once you have a greater understanding of the organization, you will begin working on self-directed projects and day-to-day marketing responsibilities. We want this internship to be exactly what you want it to be and to give you the experience that you would like to be able to add to your resume, which is why interns are given so much creative freedom when it comes to the work they do once they arrive at Rescue P.A.W.S. If you have an idea that you think will help Rescue P.A.W.S., we want you to do it!

Other day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Assisting the directors with various marketing and management projects
Developing promotional and program-related material for Rescue P.A.W.S.
Aiding in the coordination of adoptions, education efforts, and other events
Assisting with the monthly newsletter
Creating and maintaining content on the Rescue P.A.W.S. website and blog
Growing Rescue P.A.W.S.’ web presence through various social media outlets
Taking photos and videos of Rescue P.A.W.S. activities
Researching marketing plans to increase adoptions
Researching and developing fundraising campaigns
Increasing exposure within the local and international community

You can also participate in daily animal welfare tasks, beach walks, feeding runs, animal releases, etc. whenever you would like, and may be asked to participate in these activities if there is ever a lack of volunteers.

What is included in my internship placement?

Accommodation and associated utilities are included in the program price. The volunteer/intern house comes equipped with Wi-Fi, kitchen, and washing machine.

Interns also benefit from cultural activities including visits to Pran Buri Forest Park, Thai cooking classes, and temple meditation.

How should I prepare for my internship abroad?

If you want to be a marketing intern at Rescue P.A.W.S, you will need to prepare for your trip! Firstly, all interns must have up-to-date rabies vaccinations.

Interns must bring enough appropriate clothing for their placement length. Rescue P.A.W.S. is based on temple grounds, and as such, everyone at Rescue P.A.W.S. is expected to respect the necessary dress code. This means all volunteers must wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees, and must not be revealing or too tight.

Thailand temperatures can reach highs of 45 celsius/104 fahrenheit so ensuring your clothes are light and breathable will help when working outside, which should also be considered when bringing clothes to wear on your days off. Most interns and volunteers choose to wear leggings or lightweight pants with loose, baggy shirts that cover their shoulders, chest, and hips. Keep in mind that whatever you choose to wear during your time at Rescue P.A.W.S. will definitely be getting dirty! (include example images)
We recommend bringing sun protection as it can be hard to find sunscreen in Thailand that does not contain whitening agents.

We send every intern introduction packs with more comprehensive, useful information and are always on hand to offer assistance with visa applications. Should you need any additional help, please contact
