We got a call from a member of the public about an abandoned dog they had seen in the local area in a really distressing state. We headed to see him straight away and as soon as we arrived, we noticed a friendly but extremely hungry and lonely dog suffering from a bad skin condition with bloody scabs covering his body. As he was so hungry, he was easy to catch, almost as if he wanted help and soon, we were on our way back to the clinic with him where the vets assessed him straight away. He was found to be suffering from Mange, bad bacterial infection of the skin and was underweight. We also took a blood sample which confirmed he was also suffering from blood parasites, anemia, and an extremely high white blood cell count. As his skin condition is very itchy the wounds you can see on him are from self-trauma and without intervention the infection and the underlying skin disease would progress and get worse over time by covering his entire body, so he is incredibly lucky that someone alerted us to him.

Beetlejuice needs help via donations so he can receive treatment such as medicated baths, parasite treatment, antibiotics, blood boosters, supplements for his skin and antihistamines to help him recover and live a happy life with us here at Rescue Paws. He is amazing with other dogs and people and we are hopeful after recovery we can find his forever home with a loving family.
